Sunday's events cut short due to weather after second round
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (August 4, 2018) Races 9 and 10 in the 2018 chase for the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series championship wrapped up this past weekend with Wellandport, Ontario's Chris VanBaalen taking the win (and the $1000 big check and the Wally) on Saturday while mother nature cut things short on Sunday. The REVS Full Throttle Powersports RACE OF CHAMPIONS which was to be contested on Saturday got moved to Sunday and then also was split due to weather. The four cars remaining - Ryan Boniferro, Steve McCarrick, Tyler Halleen and Tom Coonly - each took a piece of the $1500 prize money. Since it began in 2006, the TNT Super Series has grown into one of the strongest, most competitive sportsman drag racing series in North America and has catapulted many competitors to success on the national stage.
The TNTSS is a self-governing organization operating with input from its teams. Based on NHRA’s Super Street & IHRA’s Hot Rod classes, competitors run on a 10.90 index in the 1/4 mile (7.00 in the 1/8 mile) and race for a guaranteed purse of at least $1000 to win at every race. The yearend points fund provides over $15,000 cash & prizes to the series members.
The TNTSS is committed to providing the highest level of competition backed by solid media support to showcase its participants across North America. Events are contested at various drag racing facilities in southern Ontario and western New York and put on a spectacular show for the drag racing fan.
