TNT Super Series announces inaugural Trailer Shop/ERD Race Of Champions
Elite event promises to find the best 10.90 sportsman drag racer in the northeast!
JORDAN STATION, ONTARIO (May 14, 2011) The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series (TNTSS) is very excited to announce the first-ever TNTSS Race of Champions (ROC) presented by The Trailer Shop/ERD. Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park will host the ROC for this elite group of sportsman drag racers on Saturday September 3rd as part of its Labor Day weekend events.
Exclusively for TNTSS event winners, the only way to get into the Trailer Shop/ERD Race of Champions is to have won a TNTSS event at any time in the series history. The ROC winner will receive $1200 and the runner-up will get $600. "This is the biggest payout in the history of the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series," said Ted Barnes TNTSS Director of Operations. "And there is no entry fee for the racers who qualify!"
The Trailer Shop and ERD have long been associated with championship winning racers so the fit with the TNTSS and specifically the ROC, is a natural one. "We're real excited to be supporting the TNT series," said Carl Spiering of The Trailer Shop & ERD. "The Race of Champions is truly about putting the best against the best and see who rises to the top!"
There will be no qualifying sessions for the Race of Champions. Instead, the field will be set based on the racer with the most TNTSS event wins. Ties will be broken by looking at the most runner-up finishes and then for any remaining ties, most overall TNTSS points will be used.
"Racers can get into the ROC right up until the race that Saturday (Sept 4)," added Ted. "We wanted this to be an all or nothing deal. You have to win to get in and then you have to survive to the final round to get paid!"
