After two rounds of qualifying for the JanCen Motorsports presented event, it was Ray Martino of Caledonia, Ontario on the pole with a perfect 7.000 run, getting the automatic bye run in round one along with the Hoosier Tire Canada #1 Qualifier Award.

Unfortunately eliminations were once again cut short due to the late hour with just four cars remaining.  Gary Saska, Wayne Sipos, Gary Stowell and Andrew Stirk will battle it out next week – June 10 – when the TNTSS returns to DTRP for the May 6 makeup race – all in an effort to earn a spot in the Trailer Shop/ERD Race of Champions.

Last Saturday’s event at Empire Dragway was completely rained out – TNTSS officials are looking for an available date to re-schedule that race.  “If you recall, we were going to finish eliminations from the Cayuga May 21st event at Empire,” said Ted Barnes, TNTSS Director.  “Now we’re back to the drawing board for that one too.”

This makes two TNTSS events that are currently ‘in progress’, two events that are being re-scheduled and one event that has been cancelled altogether.  “We haven’t had any winners yet this year!” added Ted.

This Friday is a brand new race for the TNTSS – presented by Kevin Orr Mechanical.  The qualifying that was completed on May 6 will count, but the ladder from that day will be thrown out.

Gates open on Friday at 3pm with TNTSS qualifying at 5pm.  "This Friday is also VIP Night at DTRP so the stands should be packed.  Get there early – It’s going to be insane!”  Visit www.dunntireraceway.com for more event info.

The TNTSS is a self-governing organization with input from its teams.  Based on NHRA’s Super Street & IHRA’s Hot Rod classes, competitors run on a 10.90 index in the 1/4 mile (7.00 in the 1/8 mile) and race for a guaranteed purse that pays back more than 100% of the racer's entry fees.  The yearend Series Champion receives a prize package worth over $3500.00.

The TNTSS is committed to providing the highest level of competition backed by solid media support to showcase its participants across North America.  Events are contested at various drag racing facilities in southern Ontario and western New York and put on a spectacular show for the drag racing fan.
