TNT Super Series hits western New York with two races this weekend
The Sister Act Band presents US double-header!
NEW YORK (August 21, 2013) The toughest sportsman drag racing series in the country hits two different racetracks this weekend for a US double-header. The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series visits Elegant Builders Raceway Park in Lancaster, NY on Friday followed by a trip to Empire Dragway in Leicester, NY on Saturday.
Presented by The Sister Act Band, this weekend looks to showcase competition at its highest level. The championship points chase is the closest it has been in years as JJ Jablonski claimed the number one spot at the last race.
"Jablonski cannot afford to skip a beat heading into this weekend as Sam LoVetro Jr is only 4 points back," said Ted Barnes of the TNTSS. "LoVetro won our first race at Empire earlier this year and Jablonski is just as strong on the 1/8th mile at Lancaster."
And with 2011 TNTSS champion Dave Surmatchewski in third place another 36 points back, you're going to see some terrific racing this weekend. Kevin Orr and Ryan Boniferro round out the top five.
These same three drivers (Jablonski, LoVetro and Surmatchewski) are also at the front of the pack for the Performance Improvements Driver of the Year Award, lubricated by Royal Purple. "Chris VanBaalen and Paul Young may change that landscape if they get a couple more eligible round wins this weekend," added Ted.
Both Tara Lister and Melinda Fetz - the sisters of The Sister Act Band - enjoy to get out to see the TNTSS when they can. "We love to support what the guys do and help where we can," they said. "Many times, TNTSS racers have come out to support our concerts so we are just returning the favour."
