TNT Super Series Visits Cayuga Dragway’s Quarter Mile This Weekend
Two races, one weekend – Presented by Ian Hill Racing / RPM Magazine!
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (June 2, 2015) Ian Hill Racing/RPM Magazine will present the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series this weekend June 6-7 at Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park. This double race weekend marks the Canadian opener for the highly competitive sportsman drag racing series which is based on NHRA's Super Street (10.90) index class.
Going into races 3 and 4 of the 10 race series, the 2015 TNTSS points chase is heating up with Wellandport's Chris VanBaalen leading, just ahead of 2009 TNTSS champion Paul Young. They are followed by Sam LoVetro Jr in third, then Ryan Boniferro fourth and rounding out the top five is Jeff Sobczynski.
This weekend’s events are also two more qualifiers for the REVS Full Throttle Powersports RACE OF CHAMPIONS coming up in September. Last year’s event saw Tom Coonly from Blasdell, NY win Saturday and improve his qualifying position in the ROC.
Event presenter Ian Hill is a strong supporter of grass roots drag racing and is a great fit for the TNTSS. Gates open Friday at 6:00pm for weekend camping with qualifying set to begin at 11:00am on Saturday and 10:00am on Sunday. About the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series (TNTSS):
Since it began in 2006, the TNT Super Series has grown into one of the strongest, most competitive sportsman drag racing series in North America and has catapulted many competitors to success on the national and divisional stages.
The TNTSS is a self-governing organization with input from its teams. Based on NHRA’s Super Street & IHRA’s Hot Rod classes, competitors run on a 10.90 index in the 1/4 mile (7.00 in the 1/8 mile) and race for a guaranteed purse that pays back more than 100% of the racer's entry fees. The yearend points fund provides cash & prizes to the top eight finishers and the Series Champion receives a prize package worth over $4000.00.
The TNTSS is committed to providing the highest level of competition backed by solid media support to showcase its participants across North America.
