Championship weekend cut short Saturday due to weather

The weekend, presented by Sam LoVetro Automotive, saw 31 cars at Lancaster Dragway on Friday night arrive set on kill.  It was obvious Young was ready as he came out of the trailer and put a .500 light paired with a 7.009 ET on the board.

Into eliminations from the 16th qualifying spot, Jablonski got lucky in round one as he missed the tree but managed to push Harris Phelps under to a 6.95.

Chris VanBaalen had a starting line advantage in round two .518 to .537, but he also ran too fast at 6.992.

Round three was a dog fight with Jamie Stoneman.  Jablonski slightly better on the tree .525 to .528 and also better at the stripe 7.006 to 7.008.   A .005  margin of victory.

The semi's had Steve McCarrick lined up - both drivers on the tree with .521's a pair.  It was Jablonski out on top in a double breakout at the big end.

Then came the money round with young Tyler Halleen in his first final in only his second TNTSS race.  When the tree flashed green, Jablonski left with a perfect .500 light putting Halleen's behind with his .525.  Numbers at the big end were 6.995 to a 6.984 and Jablonski lit the final beacon of the night.

Jablonski in the winner's circle - "Thanks to Jason Vitez Race Cars, my wife Nicole, Dennis O'Brien and Mark Vitez for making an appearance.  Also want to thank Tyler Halleen his first of many finals. Everything went my way today.  I made the right calls and had a lot of luck."

He said his toughest race was Jamie Stoneman when they both went 7.00.  "Again the luck prevailed.  Then in the final, I added .002 to the box and went .500.  That's luck!"

"As always, thanks Joe's Transmission, Ted Barnes and Jim Thomson for all their work.  Also thanks to Sam LoVetro Automotive for sponsoring tonight.  This series has the best racing around!"

Saturday's schedule at Empire Dragway was jam packed with TNTSS Race #10 plus the REVS Full Throttle Powersports RACE OF CHAMPIONS.  High cross winds down track forced competition to be limited to the 1/8th mile.

Even with the very real threat of rain all day, 24 drivers hit the track for qualifying.  It was clear everyone was on their game for the season-ending event when Tom Coonly and Lance Pinto ran side by side dead zero in the first qualifying session.

The ROC was called to the lanes after round two of the main event.  Thirteen cars pulled in.  Unfortunately shortly after that, the skies opened up to soak the facility with no end in sight so the race was called and the payout split.

About the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series (TNTSS):

Since it began in 2006, the TNT Super Series has grown into one of the strongest, most competitive sportsman drag racing series in North America and has catapulted many competitors to success on the national and divisional stages.

The TNTSS is a self-governing organization with input from its teams.  Based on NHRA’s Super Street & IHRA’s Hot Rod classes, competitors run on a 10.90 index in the 1/4 mile (7.00 in the 1/8 mile) and race for a guaranteed purse that pays back more than 100% of the racer's entry fees.  The yearend points fund provides cash & prizes to the top eight finishers and the Series Champion receives a prize package worth over $4000.00.

The TNTSS is committed to providing the highest level of competition backed by solid media support to showcase its participants across North America.  Events are contested at various drag racing facilities in southern Ontario and western New York and put on a spectacular show for the drag racing fan.
