Presented by Roy & Tara Lister, the TNTSS 5K is a high dollar sportsman drag race based on the popular IHRA Hot Rod class.

Competition was fierce with many drivers going for broke as they chased the big check. One of those drivers was Ben Priester from Twinsburg, Ohio who made a perfect run in second round of eliminations - He was trip zip on the tree and ran 7.000 through the lights to take the win.

According to Joe Boniferro, this is the first time in the series' eleven-year history that this has happened. "You'd think with the competition as tight as it is in this series, we would get this all the time but this is the first," he said. Priester receives $200 cash thanks to Boniferro Speed and Custom for his efforts.

"I would like to thank my father (Tim) for being my partner/crew chief in all of the racing that we do," said Priester.  "I would never be able to do it without him and all of the time and effort he puts into working on the car and making sure its safe and ready to go come race time.  I also would never be able to do it without the support of my wife Janelle, children Layla and Caleb and of course my mother Kathleen who has let my dad and I enjoy doing this together for so many years." Their 1970 Ford Maverick has been in the family since 1981 with Ben driving the past 15 years. It is capable of runs in the 9.95 range thanks to a 352 cubic inch small block Ford.

The TNTSS 5K was streamed live on Motor Mania TV and seen in 60 countries around the world. Unfortunately, off and on rain showers deep into eliminations forced officials to call the race heading into round five with seven cars remaining. The purse was split and shared between Chris Close, Gary Fleenor, Tyler Halleen, JJ Jablonski, Nick Karas, Tyler Schneider and David Surmatchewski - Each driver getting $1060.00

"We gave away a bunch of prizes," said Boniferro, creator of the TNTSS 5K race. "Not just to the racers who went deep in eliminations but every round saw different specialty awards."

Thanks to Roy and Tara Lister, the event offered a guaranteed $5000 to win plus all sorts of other cash and prizes. "None of it could have happened without the many supporters this TNT Super Series has," he added. Those supporters include Hoosier Tire Canada, J&S Collision, Ian Hill Racing/ATI, Scott Jahren Paint, The Balancing Act, VP Fuels, Boniferro Speed & Custom, DSE Automotive, DRE Engine Diapers, Altronics, Banner Engineering, Dynabrade, Permatex, Autometer, Altronics, Empire Dragway and of course Joe's Transmission.
