Cayuga Dragway to host three double header TNT Hot Rod weekends in 2009!
Six Canadian events round out 2009 points schedule
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (February 10, 2009) The Joe’s Transmission TNT Hot Rod Super Series will return once again to Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP) in Cayuga, Ontario in 2009. And to the delight of many of the teams, double header weekends will be contested at the Canadian facility. "The TNT operation is turn-key," said Neale Armstrong, Director of Track Operations at TMP. "These guys come in here with the complete package including their own registration and payout structure, not to mention an extremely competitive show."
In 2008, the TNT Series was plagued by rain and ended up running three events at TMP in October. Even with the cool temperatures, the track staff were able to get it done. "Everyone from tower staff to track prep to grounds crew all do a great job," commented Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director. "We're very excited about the return to Cayuga. All of the teams are looking forward to the tight 1/4 mile action this state of the art facility offers."
The TNT Series will contend at TMP on two of Canada's biggest holiday weekends - Victoria Day weekend May 16-17 and Labour Day weekend September 5-6 with a June 13-14 weekend sandwiched in between. "Add these events to the recently announced Dunn Tire Raceway Park events and this really rounds out the 2009 TNT points chase," added Ted.
