TNT Super Series to have enhanced payouts at this weekend's Cayuga double header!
Second double-header of the 2009 season
CANFIELD, ONTARIO (June 10, 2009) The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series competitors roll into Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP) this weekend June 13-14 for the 5th Annual Family Weekend Spectacular. With the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA) headlining the weekend, it's another double-header for the popular sportsman series with Saturday's TNT event presented by The Balancing Act and Sunday's by Performance Improvements.
Thanks to incredible sponsor support, the payouts for this weekend's TNT events have been increased. On both days, the winner is guaranteed at least $600, runner-up is guaranteed $250 and semi's are guaranteed $100 each - regardless of car count.
Of course, these minimum amounts can increase as the car count dictates. "We're very lucky to have sponsors who support us the way they do," commented Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director. "This weekend is going to be awesome!"
The series also offers Specialty Awards - new for 2009. Out of all the first round losers, closest to 10.90 will receive $50 from J&S Collision and best reaction time gets a free pass for TOP ET entry from TMP.
And the Bounty Hunter award, contested within the Canadian portion of the series only, rewards whoever takes out the most recent winner with a certificate for 5 gallons of Sunoco race fuel from DSE1. "Since Jamie Stoneman won the last Canadian event on May 17, he's the man with the bullseye on his back this Saturday," added Ted.
Saturday's TNT event is presented by The Balancing Act out of St Catharines, Ontario. The full service automotive machine shop does everything from hi-performance engine block prep to cylinder head freshen-up. They also have a 1750 hp chassis dyno onsite set up to simulate ¼ mile runs - complete with all the incremental times same as you would get at the track. That means you can tune your car based on E.T. without ever going to the track. Call Gerry Bartel or Terry Thomas at (905) 685-5182 or visit them at www.balancingactdyno.ca .
Performance Improvements (PI) presents Sunday's event. Andy McJannett, Vice President says they love to support the the TNT series. "It consists of the cars our customers race and the cars our buyers like to see. The level of quality and professionalism in the TNT series makes Performance Improvements look good at the track. Thank you for doing such a great job,” said Andy.
PI is a family owned, wholly Canadian retailer of performance parts and accessories and is celebrating 45 years in business. “We are proud to have been able to service the needs of Canadian car enthusiasts since 1964," Andy continued. "We're having our first ever Father's Day show, shine and sale at our Brampton location at 12 Rutherford Rd South on Sunday June 21st - A customer appreciation day with loads of door prizes, a live band, Nascar Trip giveaways and much more. We hope you can join us!" Visit www.performanceimprovements.com for more details.
Gates open this weekend at 9am for racers with the first qualifying session for the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series at 11:45am sharp - BOTH DAYS. The complete weekend schedule can be found at http://www.pmra.ca/events/2009/event2_schedule.html .
