TNT Super Series resumes this Friday at Dunn Tire Raceway Park
Event number nine begins chase to the championship
NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK (August 18, 2009) After a seven week break, the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series competitors get back to business this Friday August 21st at Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) in Lancaster, NY. Presented by 24 Hour Tire Service of Niagara Falls, NY, this is the ninth of twelve events in the local sportsman series. "Everybody is gunning for the yearend championship and the host of prizes that it includes," commented Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director. "And with only four races left, the competition is going to get extreme."
Current points leader Jamie Stoneman of Cheektowaga, NY blew up another engine and is thrashing to make the race. "We'll be there," stated Jamie. "We're borrowing an engine from Joe Passero for this race and then we'll have our new one ready for Labor Day weekend double."
Fred Gross of Brampton, ON is making ready as well, competing this past weekend at the IHRA Pro Am in Pittsburgh, PA. Fred is currently 8th in the TNT standings - only 32 points out of the top 5 and his share of yearend rewards. "The break in the TNT schedule was terrific," Fred mentioned. "It allowed me to compete in a few different IHRA events."
The series welcomes a new sponsor at this event, 24 Hour Tire Service. Owner Mike Kalin enjoys the show put on by the TNT Series at each of their events and is excited to be involved. "This is a group of extremely good racers," said Mike. "The points battle is always extremely tight and it's a war right to the end of the season which I think shows how deep the talent runs." Mike also mentioned how the series helps the racers be more competitive at IHRA national and divisional events. "This series is what helps them to stay sharp and perform well at that level," he added.
24 Hour Tire Service is a small shop in Niagara Falls, NY that's been in business for 10 years. In addition to auto and light truck, they provide tires for lawn & garden equipment, trailers, motorhomes and racecars. They perform only tire work and sell just about any brand. They also do tire and tube repairs, high speed balancing, run flat tire service and ltpms (low tire pressure monitor) service. Stop in to see Mike and his team at 2365 Niagara Falls Blvd (unit 4) or give them a call at (716) 870-1945.
