TNT Super Series adds Empire Dragway (NYIRP) to 2010 schedule
Popular western New York facility will host competitive 10.90 series
LEICESTER, NEW YORK (March 30, 2010) The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series has added a new venue to its 2010 schedule. Empire Dragway (formerly New York International Raceway Park) in Leicester, New York will host the 10.90 sportsman series on Saturday June 5th.
Bob Metcalfe, President of Empire Dragway says the TNT Series is what local racers are looking for. "We're excited to have such an established series focused on the sportsman racer visit our track. It seems that these types of series are what racers today are asking for," commented Bob.
This event will be a points race in the 2010 Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series points chase. "We're still going to count a racer's best five events on the US side making it fair for everyone," commented Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director. "The best five in the USA plus a racers best five on the Canadian side will determine the 2010 points championship."
The competitors in the TNT Super Series come from across western New York and southern Ontario. "Many of our racers will run both Hot Rod and the local track's Super Pro class...making it even more worthwhile to attend," added Ted. "And with us running at Dunn Tire Raceway Park on the Friday night before this race, it's kind of like a double New York weekend for us."

The Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series www.tntsuperseries.com began in 2006 and is entering its fourth full season in 2010. Based on NHRA’s Super Street & IHRA’s Hot Rod classes, the thirteen event series runs on a 10.90 index in the 1/4 mile (7.00 in the 1/8 mile), guarantees a MINIMUM of $500 for an event win and pays round money for EVERY round win. Competing at facilities in southern Ontario and western New York, there are only two exceptions to the rulebook - no weight minimum and left-hand drive open-bodied cars are allowed.
