TNT Super Series kicks off fourth season this Friday at Dunn Tire Raceway Park
Kevin Orr Mechanical presents season opening event!
CANFIELD, ONTARIO (May 9, 2010) Six months of waiting will end this Friday May 14th when the popular Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series opens its fourth season at Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) in Lancaster, New York. With participants from across western New York and southern Ontario, the extremely competitive 10.90 series continues its focus on the individual racer.
TNT Series Director Ted Barnes is overwhelmed by the support for the series. "The rewards for the participants keep growing thanks to the many supporters of the series. We've got more going back to the racers this year than we've ever had - not bad for only $40 to join the series!"
The season opener this Friday is presented by Kevin Orr Mechanical and will offer the same guaranteed payouts the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series is known for. That includes at least $500 to the winner, $200 to the runner-up, round money for every round win, along with specialty awards for the number one qualifier and for first round losers - closest to the index and best reaction time.
A drag racer himself for almost 25 years, Kevin Orr drives a 1967 Corvette powered by a 505cid Chevrolet engine backed by a powerglide transmission. The Corvette is an original 427 / 435hp, 4 speed car that Kevin bought it back in the 80's and his wife Laurie used to drive to work.
Kevin and Laurie are die-hard drag racers. Highlights for them include a two week trip in 1998 to an NHRA points meet at State Capitol Dragway. "We had the chassis certified and I got my Super Gas licence. Then we drove to Houston for an NHRA National Event," said Kevin. Add to that, a pair of semi-final finishes at some NHRA events during those years and you can see why they got hooked.
"Laurie & I feel compelled to support the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series. They work very hard to provide us all with a 'heads-up' racing series that the working man can actually attend and realistically compete for points," added Kevin. "We do all we can to support this series."
Kevin Orr Mechanical operates in the greater Toronto area. With over 30 years experience in the HVACR trade, they have been serving commercial and industrial customers since 1994. Their focus is the service, maintenance, new construction and retrofit of commercial and industrial systems.
